It's been way too long since we've provided an update on our family happenings, so we're gonna do our best to give an update on pretty much everything for both girls:
Marley (Marles): She had a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) a few months ago and our pediatrician recommended we visit a specialist just to make sure the UTI wasn't caused by a "kidney reflux." One good thing about living in Houston is all of the awesome hospitals, but apparently quite a few people from all over the country have realized the same thing so it can take a while to get in. Once we finally had the appointment set, Marley had to go through quite a few tests including a VCUG test (Google it), ultrasound and a few others. After all of the testing, the doctors confirmed she does have a kidney reflux, which is a Grade 2. All that means is that she has to take an antibiotic daily for at least 12 months and it could be for as long as 3 years. She will get the VCUG test approx. every 12 months and hopefully the reflux will fix itself. If not, then it will have to be repaired surgically. Not long after that she came down with Viral Pneumonitis (kind of like baby Pneumonia or Bronchitis...we were told). She finally got over that after a few weeks and she is now doing pretty well. She's walking everywhere and eating pancakes, cheez its, goldfish and any type of 100-calorie pack. She also seems to like pretty much anything chocolate...not sure where that comes from.
Berkley: All is good in Berkley's World. As of Saturday, she now has pierced ears and you would have thought she was 16 years old now. She is continuing her karate career and throws in a little soccer too. She'll be starting her second season in a few weeks and we think she might have to move up to 20 kicks in one game this year. She counts how many times she kicks the ball each game...which means she shuts it down once she hits a new milestone each game. She is getting ready for her 5th birthday party at Jumpin' Jungle with an After Party at the local park.
The rest of the A'berry family is finishing their final training for the first ever A'berry Family Physical Fitness test. Everyone will either be running or walking in the Chevron Houston 5k or Marathon. Good luck everyone!
